I feel like, again, I might be casting myself as the predictable sort by finding and funding projects that share common themes. Today’s project continues a trend that’s been emerging since the beginning of the year – one having to do with growing stuff. Frankly, I’m not ashamed of this trend at all – I happen to think that horticulture is fascinating and awesome and I’m pleased to know that there are so many people out there who are actively spreading the awesome around. It’s an honor to help them do that.
Homesweet Homegrown will be a How-To book for aspiring Do-It-Yourselfers interested in growing, gardening, farming, preserving and enjoying (or, in their words: “Know, Start, Grow, Plant, Plan, Make, Eat, and Store“) food for fun and profit.
The publishers have released a bunch of other interesting- and handy-looking book and zines, including lots in the DIY field, all of which would make fine additions to the bookshelf I’ve set aside for useful knowledge (just below my shelf dedicated to philosophy and above the shelf of old Playboys. Just kidding. Maybe.)
8 days to go and about $1,000 left before this book can be printed. Help them help you (and lots and lots of other people) by ordering a copy (or two) of Homesweet Homegrown or some other neat and knowledgeable book.
