Another day, another dollar. This time, though, we’re departing from the earnest, heavy and globally-resonating sort of projects that have been the recipients of support for the past two days. It’s time to take a walk on the lighter side of life, and there’s few groups better at that than Improv Everywhere. Don’t get me wrong, Improv Everywhere is definitely changing the world for the better. If you’re not already familiar with some of the genius stunts they’ve orchestrated, you don’t know what you’ve been missing, and you’d likely find out soon, as a victim of their brilliant pranks.
The project for today is a documentary that follows the Improv Everywhere movement from its humble beginnings on a cold, pantsless subway to its bright future still to come. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next, but there’s no doubt that they’ve started something wonderful – serving as the inspiration for countless others who strive to shake up the normal routine and introduce a little whimsical anarchy.
At the moment, they’ve still got a long way to go in terms of funding, and only 17 days left in their campaign. For a cool $10, you can get to see the film once it’s finished, and I think it’ll be worth watching.
